For the fifth consecutive year Lanterna will be hosting the Spring Jam 2011, the Austrian student event. More than two thousand Austrian students hold a varied music and sports program at the Crnika beach, below the Lanterna apartments.

Istria is host of choirs from Croatia and Europe for the third time on the International Choirs Festival Cantante Croatia 2011 from 3rd to 6th of June.

"Naš kanat je lip"
Ever since 1973, once a year Poreč becomes the venue for the traditional meeting of choruses. This event is exceptional since it focuses on the music of Istria and Primorje as well as chakavian expression. The festival is again and again enriched with new pieces of music composed for ‘Kanat’, adding to its established reputation. Regular prize competitions are a strong incentive for poets and composers, since the best compositions are awarded and announced in special music publications.

The programme will take place in the town harbour, the so called Mandrač, and the offer of dishes with scallop and other shellfish at symbolic prices will be spread over a several dozen meters long table along Mandrač. The offer will include the specialties made by numerous Novigrad's restaurants and taverns, winemakers, olive growers, souvenir manufacturers..., within the programme there will be show-cooking of several dishes from scallops. The manifestation will of course include an appropriate music and animation programme, with traditional music, funny games, children's corner with animation, etc. During ''the scallop weekend'' caterers will provide a special offer of dishes/menu based on this shellfish. By this gourmet manifestation Novigrad marks the beginning of the tourist season.
