10th Motovun Film Festival+

27.7.2009. - 1.8.2009.Motovun

10th Motovun Film Festival+"Partner state of this year Festival comes from the very north of Europe - this summer we are presenting the new Finnish film. As the first film ever showed at Motovun Film Festival came from Finland (yes, some of you can remember that „Juha" by Aki Kaurismaki was the first film on the first MFF), ten years later, Motovun Film Festival enters its eleventh edition with the whole programme of the cinematography which is it's „godmother", so to speak .

As part of the programme THE NEW FINNISH FILM five of the most successfull feature films made in the last five years will be shown. Nonetheless, Finland is particularly well known for its documentaries so the special treat will be a selection of those most interesting. For the Motovun audience they will be selected by Arto Halonen, currently the most respected Finnish documentarist.

Except for the film programme, and by the old Motovun tradition, the partner state will present itself with concert attractions, guest appearances of the prominent film authors as well as many little surprises. The programme is setup in cooperation with The Finnish Film Foundation and the Embassy of Finland in Zagreb.

This summer, Motovun Film Festival will be held with the support of MEDIA 2007 - the European Union fond set out for the development of European audiovisual industry. With Animafest, Motovun Film Festival is the first festival supported by the MEDIA during this first year of Croatian membership in this programme. So this is the first time that MEDIA 2007 supports a festival in Croatia.
